This series will be presented via Zoom on three Mondays in March, focusing more in-depth on emerging landscaping issues as we face considerations of the changing world around us. This series will be recorded for later viewing by registered attendees. 1. March 4, 2024: Landscaping for Water Quality and Conservation. This class will cover design considerations to protect surface and ground water by reducing runoff and promoting infiltration, including proper use of hardscapes and rain gardens, as well as choosing plants properly, efficient watering techniques, and more. 2. March 11, 2024: Using Native Plants in Your Landscape - How & Why. This class will cover how to work natives into our conventional landscapes; pros and cons, which ones behave and adapt best, how to care for them, and more. 3. March 18, 2024: Landscaping for Energy Efficiency. This class will cover various design techniques to use that reduce energy consumption, such as reducing heating and cooling costs, snow removal, and maintenance inputs.
